What is sold at the Dénia markets
The sizes vary more than the opening hours. The big one is Dénia market, on Carrer Germans Maristes: 390 stalls of clothing, shoes, bags, costume jewellery, decoration, kitchenware, ceramics, flowers and plants. The one on Calle de la Vía is a different thing: some thirty stalls of fruit and vegetables only.
The second-hand one is the Dénia flea market, at the Drive In open-air cinema. It shares the site with the Mercat de la Terra, which sells local produce. In Jesús Pobre, under the riurau, farmers, bakers and craftspeople sell without middlemen; on the first Sunday of the month the Jesús Pobre antiques market is held there as well. The harbour market is the only afternoon one: crafts along the harbour promenade.
Getting there and parking
The flea market is not in the town centre: the Drive In is in the Deveses district, beside the Les Marines road. The harbour one sets up on the promenade, next to Calle Bellavista.
Tips for going
The Monday market closes at 13:30, so from one o'clock the stalls start packing up; the flea market runs until 14:00. Around the Fira de Tots Sants, between late October and early November, the council suspends the Monday market for some weeks, and the dates change from year to year. Jesús Pobre changes with the season: from 9:00 to 14:00 in winter and from 18:00 to 23:00 in summer, until mid-September.
