Costa Adeje market is on Thursdays and Saturdays, from 9am to 2pm (9:00 to 14:00), on Avenida de Bruselas in Fañabé, next to a shopping centre. There are usually around 80 stalls, almost all aimed at visitors.

Days and opening times

The market runs all year round, on Thursday and Saturday mornings only. Tourists and residents start arriving as soon as it opens, and mid-morning is the busiest time.

Where it is

The stalls are set out in parallel rows, with narrow aisles mostly covered by awnings. Across the street there are bars, cafés and shops. The bus stop is right opposite, and there are toilets.

What you'll find

Mostly clothes —T-shirts, football shirts included, jeans and hoodies— plus trainers, bags and wallets, sunglasses, costume jewellery and souvenirs of the island. Many stalls sell similar goods. Among them are a few craft stalls, with leather, wood and handmade jewellery.

There isn't much food: a couple of food and drink stalls at one end, and no fruit or local produce.

Tips

It gets very crowded and it's hot under the awnings, so it's best to go first thing. Parking nearby is difficult and the car parks around it, including the underground ones at the shopping centres, fill up early; the bus drops you right opposite.

At many stalls the price can be negotiated, though not at all of them, and it pays to walk round and compare before you buy. With so many people about, keep your bag closed and in front of you.
