The La Mola craft fair is the best known market in Formentera. It started in 1984 and is set up along Avinguda de la Mola, in El Pilar de la Mola, the village at the high end of the island, on Wednesday and Sunday afternoons.

What is sold

Crafts made by hand on the island: ceramics, wood, silver, stone, shells and glass, sold by the makers themselves.

What the visit is like

It opens 16:00 to 21:30, from May to 12 October, the feast of El Pilar. There is live music in the central square with terraces around it, and it is the market with the most craftspeople and the most visitors in Formentera: the classic plan is to drive up to La Mola in the afternoon, walk the market and stay for the sunset.
