Maspalomas market is held every Wednesday and Saturday from 8:00 to 14:00 in Parque Europeo, Playa del Inglés, between Avenida de Italia and Avenida de Tenerife. There are usually around 145 stalls, and the council now also calls it the Playa del Inglés market.

When is Maspalomas market?

It runs all year round, with the same hours on both days. One known exception: during the Maspalomas Carnival in March, the council cancels by decree the market on the Saturday of the main Carnival weekend, so check the council's notices around then. The fixed local holiday is San Bartolomé, on 24 August; the other one changes from year to year. If it falls on a Wednesday or Saturday, check beforehand whether the market is on.

Where is the market?

In Parque Europeo, right in the tourist area of Playa del Inglés and close to the beach. For more than thirty years it was held next to the San Fernando municipal market on Avenida Alejandro del Castillo; it moved here on 1 October 2022 because of the works on the new market building. In 2026 the council decided it will stay in Parque Europeo.

What you'll find

Mostly clothing, bags and leather goods, costume jewellery and accessories, plus gifts, beachwear and swimsuits, plants and flowers, and a few stalls with aloe vera products. Many stalls sell the same things, and a few have handicrafts. It isn't a food market: for fruit and vegetables you need to go to other markets in the municipality.

Tips

It fills up by mid-morning and is busiest around midday; on very hot days it's harder going. You can see it all at an easy pace in an hour. Parking nearby is difficult: on market days the council reserves 62 spaces for traders between Avenida de Italia and Avenida de Tenerife, and the rest of the area fills up quickly. If you're staying in Playa del Inglés, it's easier to walk, take a taxi or the bus. Prices for the same item vary from stall to stall: it pays to compare, and at many stalls you can haggle.
