Its 159 stalls place it among the largest on the Costa Brava and give it a double life: a neighbourhood market for locals coming down for fruit, and a morning stop for anyone on holiday.

Textiles lead — dresses, T-shirts, trousers, underwear, shoes, bags and seasonal accessories — with a row of local fruit and vegetables, bread, nuts and preserves, and a broad block of bazaar and homeware: kitchen goods, home textiles, tools, toys, cosmetics and costume jewellery. Churro and roast chicken stalls usually close the walk.

Blanes also has the fruit and vegetable market, open on weekdays, and La Ganga, the Sunday flea market.
