Markets in Torrevieja and surroundings

Torrevieja has three markets all year round. On Fridays, the one at Parque Antonio Soria, the big one, with 500 stalls; on Wednesdays, La Mata market; and every day, the craft stalls of the hippie market, on the Vía Verde. In October the Maritime Market joins them, on Paseo de Vistalegre.

The markets of Torrevieja

Torrevieja is in the Vega Baja del Segura, in the south of the province of Alicante, between Guardamar del Segura and Orihuela Costa. The big market is on Fridays, at Parque Antonio Soria, an open site north of the town on Avenida Delfina Viudes: around 500 stalls of fruit and vegetables, cheese, cured meats, olives, clothes, shoes, bags and household goods, from 8:00 to 14:00, all year round. Parking is plentiful and free, but in high season it fills up early; from the centre it is a 20 to 25 minute walk.

On Wednesdays there is a market in La Mata, the seaside district in the north of the municipality: around 160 stalls on Avenida de Francia and the surrounding streets, also from 8:00 to 14:00, with food, clothes, shoes, plants and kitchenware.

The third is the hippie market, the craft one, which opens every day from 11:00 to 23:00. Since April 2025 it has not been on Paseo de la Libertad but on the Vía Verde, by Avenida de la Estación, because of the works on the harbour front.

One thing before you go on a Friday in July: when Parque Antonio Soria hosts the Low Festival, that week's market is cancelled.

On the Vía Verde, by Avenida de la Estación. The stalls moved there in April 2025 because of the works on Paseo de la Libertad, where they used to be, and they open every day from 11:00 to 23:00. The town council is preparing their return to the port as a craft market with new stalls, but there is no date yet: check where they are before you go.
