The Uga municipal market opens on Saturdays and Sundays from 9am to 2pm, next to the village church. It is not a street market: it is a municipal building with fixed stalls that Yaiza town council reopened in October 2022 after a 70,000-euro refurbishment, and to which it added air conditioning in 2025 to keep the produce better.

What is sold

Zero-kilometre produce: seasonal fruit and vegetables, cheeses, meat, artisan bread, home baking, jams, herbal teas and crafts. The site also hosts livestock display, sale and exchange.

What the visit is like

Uga is a white village of low houses on the road towards Timanfaya and La Geria, known for its smoked salmon and its camels. The market is quiet and family-friendly, and the council programmes weekends with storytelling, street parades and music.
